About Meals on Wheels Shaker

Meals on Wheels Shaker (MOWS) is an independent community service agency whose dedicated volunteers deliver affordable, nutritious meals to seniors and others unable to provide for themselves. This service assists our clients in maintaining their health and well-being. We are an important key to independent living.

Since our first delivery in 1982, Meals on Wheels Shaker has been driven by one simple goal: deliver low-cost, nutritious meals and friendly visits to neighbors at risk of poor nutrition and social isolation. With a focus on nutrition and social connection, our home delivered meal service is an important key to independent living.

Today, our team of volunteers prep and deliver meals to the communities of Shaker Heights, Beachwood, University Heights, and Warrensville Heights. Our compact service area means we can get meals to our clients’ doors fast and fresh.

Meals on Wheels Shaker is a proud member of the Meals on Wheels America network. What began as a compassionate idea has grown into one of America’s largest and most impactful social movements. The Meals on Wheels network comprises over 5,000 independent, community-based programs across the U.S. delivering nutritious meals, safety checks, and social connection to over 2 million seniors annually.
