Volunteer

Whether assembling meals or delivering them, volunteering for Meals on Wheels Shaker is an incredible opportunity to make a difference in your community! Volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization – we nourish our neighbors with nutritious food and friendly visits.

Only have an hour a week? No problem! There are many ways to get involved!
Volunteers are needed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

Kitchen Volunteers
Assemble meals and organize them for delivery.
Shifts run from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Volunteer Drivers
Delivering meals takes about an hour, and routes are organized for efficiency. Drivers use a mobile meals app called ServTracker which provides detailed driving directions, client information, and a chat/call feature to contact Meals on Wheels Shaker staff.
Shifts run from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Substitute Volunteers
Opportunities to fill in on occasion are extremely helpful when we need an extra hand and allows for schedule flexibility!

SnowBag project volunteers collect and assemble emergency pantry items for clients during the winter should adverse weather conditions interrupt our meal delivery. Your contributions provide our clients with extra food and more importantly, peace of mind.

  • Fruit Cups (sweetened with fruit juice)
  • Applesauce
  • Raisins
  • Dried Fruit

  • Juice Boxes (no added sugar)

  • Hot Chocolate Packets (sugar free)
  • Herbal Tea Bags
  • Cookies
  • Granola Bars
  • Peanut Butter Crackers
  • Snack Crackers
  • Pudding Cups

  • Jello Cups

Please note: All donated pantry foods must be prepackaged as individual servings and must not require refrigeration.

Deliver items on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings before 11:00 a.m.
